White felt hat with pointed edges, 1950s

This white felt hat belonged to Elaine Brygger Green (1909-2005). Elaine grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington. In 1931 she married Joshua Green Jr., son of businessman and banker Joshua Green Sr. The couple was socially prominent in Seattle and involved in many local charities. The hat has a label for I. Magnin, a high-end West Coast clothing chain which had a branch in Seattle.
